It’s finally official, you guys. 🥹🌍✨Jattractions h It’s finally official, you guys. 🥹🌍✨Jattractions has a new home!

But honestly, I see it less as a website and more as a travel directory and personal diary. 📖✈️
A place for the stories, the places, the food, the culture, travel guides, maps, the lessons, the wins, the detours… all the little things that make travel more than just collecting stamps. From Jamaica 🇯🇲 to chasing 198 countries, I’m documenting the journey, and now you can actually flip through the pages with me.

So don’t just visit. Read the pages. Get lost in a few stories. Find your next adventure. 🌍
And if you’re wondering how to make your own trip feel a little less generic… that’s where Jattractions Travel Agency comes in. 😉 Make your trip, yours. ✈️ Oh, and we’re also celebrating 10 YEARS OF JATTRACTIONS! #travellikealocal #jattractions #jattractionstravelclub
    Hey guys, it’s Yara! 👋🏽✨ I know, I know… some of y Hey guys, it’s Yara! 👋🏽✨
I know, I know… some of you tagged me as that “Christmas YouTuber” who only pops up in your feed once a year like Santa Claus! 🎄😂
Truth is, behind the scenes, I’ve been putting in the real work. If you haven’t been following my YouTube channel closely, I’ve been leveling up my consistency, posting in structured seasons, and Season 1 is officially on my YouTube Channel! 🎬🎉

We took on 7 countries this season on a Jamaican passport: Jamaica 🇯🇲, US 🇺🇸, Mexico 🇲🇽, Belize 🇧🇿, Guatemala 🇬🇹, El Salvador 🇸🇻, and Honduras 🇭🇳.
This season’s end hits differently because Jattractions is officially celebrating 10 YEARS! 🥳✨

Ten years ago, I was just a tech girl (website developer & project manager) looking for real freedom. I coined the word Jattractions by blending Jamaican + Attractions = Jattractions, starting with a personal dream to show off the raw beauty of my island.

My OG followers remember where this all started: a travel girly exploring Jamaica and hosting mini giveaways, then the 12 Travels of Christmas, parish guides, do’s & don’ts, and content built for 9-to-5 travelers. What began as a local passion project has evolved into two huge milestones:
Journey to 198 Countries: My mission to visit every country on a Jamaican passport, tearing down big visa walls to showcase real street food, local transport, and authentic community connections.

Jattractions Travel Agency: Introducing my new baby! A travel agency founded right here in Jamaica to bridge the gap between travelers and authentic local cultures, ditching generic packages so you can experience hidden gems stress-free.
To celebrate 10 years of roaming around and still not getting lost, I’m giving back to the community that built this with me! 🎒🎁 Keep your eyes peeled for my next few posts because I’m dropping a major 10th-Anniversary Giveaway to upgrade your next adventure!
Our core motto remains: Travel like a local. ✈️
Decade one was just the warm-up. The entire Season 1 story is live on my YouTube Channel: Jattractions! Head over to binge the playlist, subscribe, and drop your flag in the comments below! 🇯🇲👇🏽
Coming in hot at country 4/198: Belize 🇧🇿 A count Coming in hot at country 4/198: Belize 🇧🇿

A country where people start a conversation in English, respond in Spanish, and close with Belizean Creole. How they are able to switch between languages so fluently is something spectacular to experience.

Belize is small in population but huge geographically. There was so much ground to cover, I didn’t know where to start.

Seeing I had booked only one week and was trying to accomplish a lot, I had to really decide on one area where I wanted to go.

Did you know Belize had islands off the coast of the country? 🏝️Yea, I didn’t know that.

My intentions were for the Mayan ruins. That’s the only thing I wanted to do there. Somehow, I ended up on one of those islands for 2 weeks and still haven’t seen the Mayan ruins lol.

I think it’s safe to say, I’ll be back😉

**Fun Fact:** The Belizean Creole is very similar to the Jamaican Creole, and a lot of people there have relatives and ancestors of Jamaican descent.

Are you curious to see what Belize is like, how the people talk, and what to expect when going there?

One of my favourite things to do when I travel to One of my favourite things to do when I travel to a new country, is walking around the area to see where everything is located.

I love and prefer slow travel, so when I get to a place, I’m there for at least two weeks to a month.

Walking around for two weeks, looking like a tourist, is not for me.

Therefore, I normally on the first day, I would walk around and look for places like the supermarket, cambio (where you change money), a gym (for obvious reasons), a laundromat, nearby restaurants and things to do.

Once I scout the place out on the first day, the next day? Baby, I’m a local. I move like I belong there. At this point, I can give directions.

Cultural Explore Pro Tip: When you travel to a new city or country, scout the place out on the first day (if you can), to have an idea where things are, so you don’t look like a tourist or an easy target.

One of my Mexico highlights has to be the spot thi One of my Mexico highlights has to be the spot this country is famous for; Chichen Itza and the ancient Mayan sites.

Sure, they’re not hidden gems, but honestly? They deserve every bit of fame. And trust me, once you’re there, you’ll see why.

One of the new wonders of the world. Though heavily swamped by tourists and vendors selling everything under the sun; these things don’t take away from it’s beauty.

Walking through these ruins, I felt the weight of history and the genius of the Mayan civilization. Every stone, every step had a story to tell and it hit me: some places aren’t just beautiful… they stay with you.

To this day, I’m still trying to figure out how they built all this infrastructure without any “official” schooling.

This place is definitely a place to visit at least once in your lifetime.
Definitely bucket list worthy. 🌎✨
